My name is Cialina. I live in New Jersey but I go to school in New York City. I own several different websites, the main two being: http://sectumsempra.org/ and http://muggle-born.net/. I love Harry Potter.

• What are some of your hobbies offline?

I love to read, hang out with friends having the weirdest and most random conversations, and explore New York City.

• What inspired you to start & run a website?

I think I was ten when the idea was first introduced to me by my mom. I started out using a website builder, but I had not really dabbled into HTML/CSS until I started going on this site GirLand.com. From then on, I encouraged myself to learn the basics to make layouts and learn Photoshop. It was always a self-taught process for me. I did try to go to classes about web development, but I never seemed to learn anything new. I knew it all. That’s not the case anymore, of course. I stopped teaching myself a while back, and there’s always something new going on with the Internet. Now there’s always new things to learn.

• When you were young, what did you want to be when you grow up?

When I was young, I loved to write, so naturally I dreamed of becoming an author. I gave up on that dream a while back since I can’t seem to finish any novel I start.

• Now that you have finished your mentor program with Scholastic, what will you be doing next?

Working at Scholastic had been really fun, but unfortunately it was time to move on. Currently, I am at my first year of college, taking lots of classes and meeting lots of cool people. I hope to intern at another children’s publishing house in the future.

• What are some of your favourite sites to waste time on?

I love Twitter. I’m always on. Facebook is always great for time-wasting as well. If I really have nothing to do online, I check out my LiveJournal and read all the posts from communities and LJ friends that I’ve missed. They build up really fast and take up a lot of time to read through.

• Who is your favourite author?

Such a tough question! There are a lot of awesome authors out there and each one is so different from the other that I can’t just choose one. I love J.K. Rowling (for giving me Harry Potter and friends), Suzanne Collins, Diana Gabaldon, David Levithan, and Meg Cabot.

• What song do you have stuck in your head right now?

I have a very interesting collection of songs that are not unnecessarily stuck in my head, but I can’t seem to stop thinking about: Imma Be by Black Eyed Peas, Double Rainbow Song on YouTube, It’s Tricky by Run DMC, and Zulu Nation Throwdown by Afrika Bambaataa vs Freedom Express.

• What’s your favourite season?

Spring and fall used to be my favorite seasons. But since I’ve developed allergies, fall took the lead. I love how it’s not too hot or too cold. The trees start to look pretty with their red and gold leaves.

• How would you describe your style?

It’s hard for me to describe my style. It depends on the day or what I’m doing. I can totally work a really girlie lace dress or just a white tee and some short shorts. The one must-have fashion accessory for me: cowboy boots. I have five different pairs in different shapes and colors. I wear them with everything.

• If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?

I would love to go to London. I’d love to see what it’s like on the other side of the Atlantic.

• Do you see yourself running a website 5 to 10 years from now?

Most likely… If I’m still running websites after all these years, I doubt I’ll abandon the hobby.

I recently joined the Quilting Bee. A pixeling club which their main focus to to learn and create friends. A lot of people don’t realize that it isn’t how you pixel, its about how you can intereact with the hive and how you can contribute to the club. If you will bring a good vibe and feeling.

A nice feature about this club is there are many ways to interact other than a forum or trading patches. You can enter contests and join activities, as well as vote for others, and there is even a chat.

Another positive part of the club is anyone can help out, as long as you are committed. There are many different roles in the club.

I had mentioned it last time about promises, and how I was recently let down. Well I was let down again. It has been 4 times now, and I’m past the point of being pissed off.

I don’t want to talk about the promise. I will tell you that this person wanted to get me something that I could easily get on my own, but I was being nice and gave them the satisfaction of getting me the item. They made plans 3 times to come give it to me and it seems like each time there was an excuse.

Now its just become fustrating and knowing how this person is, I don’t think I will get it for a year. I regret not getting it myself. I think I will be regreting it for a really long time.

Its not that they did ran into troubles trying to give it to me it is the principle. Don’t make a promise if you can’t keep it! Online world and offline world. It just ends up hurting the person on the other side.

I feel as I get older that people tend to assume I won’t care if you break the promise. Scratch that its more like people have always thought that of me. I think it is because I used to not really care, but you can only take it so much, and then it begins to sting.

I feel that when you break the promise once, its okay I understand your excuse is legit, the second time is like ‘okay, I’m a bit annoyed but I can forgive you’. By the third time its almost like ‘I’m not worth it, you honestly don’t care, why the heck did you make the promise’.  it always seems it ends as though I’m not worth keeping the promise.

I just as a person believe that you should keep the promises you make or not make them at all.

So this leads me to ask, do you ever think about the person you let down when you break a promise? (Just something for you to think about. No need to answer it. )

Cartridges

The title is matching pretty much the theme of my blog. What may that theme be, well let me tell you.

I was at the marine museum the other day. It was interesting traveling through the boats seeing were people slept and stuff. I took a few photos for you to enjoy. Anyway the thing that stood out to me the most was the lighthouse worker.

The life this person had would have killed me. They lived alone in this very tiny house. The one at the museum was 2 rooms. The front was where they slept, bathed, washed clothes, and pretty much lived life. Something you should know this room was smaller than my bed room (mine is standard size). The other room was the kitchen and washroom. Lovely getting to have both in the same room.

The book on the side describe the life of the man who lived there. He spent his entire life from the time that he started working, alone. No family contact because he never got holidays, never got married and had a family. He lived be himself. I took some photos of what his house looked like.

I may get annoyed by my family majority of the time but I do love them, and I don’t want to ever think of losing them or never seeing them again. I’m a teenager, I say things I don’t mean. I get mad at the oddest times, and have the weirdest breakdowns, whether they be big or small.  (This being related to recent family events.) I do not want to ever be alone.

That I think is my greatest fear. Being alone and not having that special someone in life. I know it seems odd but I really want that fairy tale ending. The one where I find the guy that’s meant for me, living a good life with few worries, and struggles. Unfortunately I don’t see this fairy tale coming true anytime soon. I guess you can say that at this point in my life, even though it comes off as if I don’t care about whether or not I’m dating a guy, I sort of envy the people who have someone thinking about them before they go to bed each night.

I know it sounds silly, but deep down it is true. I just can’t deny it any longer.

New Layout!!! It is really exciting seeing as I actually like it and I am sure it looks similar to no ones. I took the picture that is featured in the header. I didn’t edit the header in any way other than crop and put lyrics on it. I find that’s all you need to do; it doesn’t need to be too complex.

So I have been shopping or more like mall walking because I have no money yet. I get my pay check from the stuff I was doing for my godparent on Friday. That is also my last day. I can’t spend any of it though because it is for my Europe trip. 216 days left.

I did buy 2 cute shirts from bluenotes. One thing that ruined the experience was the lady who was ringing through my stuff, made a comment on my computer shirt and she was like “I don’t get it, it’s really weird” and gave a disgusting face. I felt like giving her the middle finger so bad. Of course you all get it though. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist.

Okay so this was supposed to be posted about 20 minutes ago, but it began to hail out of nowhere. I took a few pictures. This is the biggest hail I have seen. it is about the size of the golf balls. I just stopped and now is raining. I got non-decent photos. I was too late grabbing my camera. It was cool too because it was still bright and shiny outside.

Anyway here they are. Will blog again in two days. Maybe I will change my other blog into an article. Guess you have to wait and see. So for my question to get you involved it is:

• Have you ever had a cashier make a good experience turn bad, and how?

I guess I should be blogging, but instead I’m working on a new layout. It is a school sort of layout. I wanted to make one before the actual school year starts. Unfortunately it is that time. The countdown.

There is another countdown I like which is the one that is coming in less than a year. No, not my 16^th birthday (I am excited for that) but actually it is my trip to Europe.

I know I am going to have a lot to blog about then. I think I will write a whole article on it and feature it in my blog. I will be there a week. Except I don’t know if we are still going to Greece, since the tourist attractions closing. I don’t mind though because that means we may spend more time in Italy. My family who live down south in Calabria said that they would come and steal me for a month. My parents would have let me go down, if it was at the end of the school year, but sadly it is spring break, and this means I have class as soon as I get back. So I won’t get to visit family but I will get to explore many new things. The best part is my BFFL, Jasmine, is coming too. I talked her parents into it.

So exactly what have I been up too? Well other than layouts I made a new letter for the personal writing section of my articles. As well I am redoing my about me page. I feel it needs a facelift. I don’t have enough stuff in my visitor page so I am merging the tutorial and visitor page. If I don’t like it I am saving the tutorial page anyway. You never know.

I still need to go school clothes shopping. This is my second year getting to do so, since this is my second year without a uniform. I love it! I am getting a pair of guess jeans, and I also am getting things on sale from store like American eagle. I will post pictures in the next blog.

I am still making the contest winners and I made a mistake on the page. Sorry about that. I will fix it soon!

So this is just an update blog I guess, I really don’t know what the heck to write about. I have been having some issues but I don’t want to worry about that on here. I am just frustrated and completely annoyed with someone. Thinking about it makes me become unmotivated and I feel as if I feel nothing. If you can understand that.

The new theme I’m making is working well. It will have the similar sidebars as this, and have a same feel just a different characters, and overall theme. I checked the website I got this one from, because I just wanted to change the stylesheet, and it says I can alter, as long as I don’t use the birdie image. If worst comes to worst I will have to restart a new theme all over again.

I figured out the plugin thing Lightbox. I am using it now, so this is exciting.

So the following quote describes my whole situation. It helped me realize that this person may need to grow up, and really isn’t worth my time. Although it may hurt, it might make things better.

Don’t waste your moments with people who don’t deserve a moment of your time.

At first I thought my friend was bi-polar(I hope no one takes this to be offensive), mild case of course, just because he was so sweet one moment, and the next he was a real ass-hole. I know swears, don’t get upset, I just feel those words best describe the attitude.

Now I just think he is a huge jerk, has let compliments get to his head, has a extremely bad group of friends, (I’m like the only normal one, and no offense but his friends are really bad influences), and need his head to be deflated because the capacity of air in it has become too much.

I honestly can’t go into any details because I don’t want to bring up the same emotions I just let out. I know I said I would not write about it but I felt the need to, and I hope I never post worse things about him. I also wanted to share the quote.

The last day I blogged about was Monday, and I still have yet to email awards to contest winners. I’m bad at procrastination. Anyway, here is a really quick recap.

Tuesday we went to the zoo. Then we ate at olive garden. I got to see the new lions exhibit his hair reminded me of a friends hair. And they also made a new cage for the eagles. It looked really awesome. They have a lot under construction at the moment though.

Wednesday we planned on going again to the pool with some friends, but it decided to rain. I had invited a friend that my friends don’t know too. It would have been interesting but I’m sort of glad it didn’t work out. Instead Jasmine came over and she helped me come up with the new idea or a website.

Then on Thursday, we went to the store, I bought some new socks from the Adidas Outlet and a Italia sweater.

On Friday we went to a splash pad, and also went to thunder rapids (a go kart, and bumper boats type place). I got so went on the bumper boats.

Then on Saturday it was my Zia’s birthday, we went to Salisbury house. It was the worst food ever. Never again shall I go there. Then on Sunday, I helped my uncle make a facebook. He is a new addict. Haha, its funny watching him go on there and type really slow.  

Now today I am doing nothing. It is fustrating but I will get through. So to end off here are some awesome photos. Click the thumbnail to make them bigger.

So I actually did stuff this week, which is the first stuff I have done this summer. Here is a recap of each day.

Monday, I hung out with Jasmine, it was originally supposed to be us, but we wanted to have a few more friends. We decided to call up JP, and he was the only one available. So in the end we went swimming, and hug out a whole day. It was really nice to see my friends. I miss them so much!

Tuesday, I went again with my auntie to the same pool. I did have as much fun though because I was just there. I tried to stay away from the sun but it is hard. I then went to get my hair shaped and fixed up. I don’t want to talk about what else happened while I was there. All I will say is people can be so stupid when they think acting a certain way is cool.

Wednesday I went with my Zia, Zio, and cousins to get my cousin a pet fish. She picked a beta, and named it Fin. I also took it slow with my skin burn and. Just hung out. I came up with a new layout idea which I have drawn out. We shall see the results.

Thursday I tried to make a layout. It did not turn out. I also deleted my old one by accident. Crappy day. I stayed home, but hen at night we went fishing. So that was good. I caught a fish, but my cousin’s rod broke so I gave her mine and helped her out.

Friday I was supposed to go in the morning hut they left me. I was so pissed off because the last place I want to be is home. I updated my iPod though. It erased all my music but kept my notes and apps. That was good at least. It didn’t take much to put everything back.

Saturday I went to a water slide park, it was interesting and fun.

Sunday I stayed home and also went put just to the store.

And on yesterday I had a family BBQ and we had pizza.

I want to make this just a blog site. As the site gets older I’ve noticed I’ve changed a lot and don’t care too much to put up new tutorials, or visitor stuff or even contests. I want to create small themes where I can just blog, and that’s all I really want to do.

As you can see I’m using a pre made till I get something made on my own. I thought this was cute so I’m using it. I may just keep this one too. I’ll see what happens.

Anyway I need another week off but I’m leaving the site open if you know what I mean by that. . So yea, winners have been emailed and I’m returning comments slowly.

PS I’m thinking of closing my fan listing collective an fan listing down but I don’t know. I’m still debating on that.
