Up Close with Cialina

So to start this blog post off, this is an article now featured in my blog and that articles that is about a web-designer, Cialina. She won the latest icon contest and as a prize she got an interview. I want to do a whole set of these, and I must say I am happy she was the first person I interviewed. I had making the questions and she also had fun answering them. So hope everyone enjoys the post. • Tell us a little bit about yourself. (For readers that don’t know you.)

My name is Cialina. I live in New Jersey but I go to school in New York City. I own several different websites, the main two being: http://sectumsempra.org/ and http://muggle-born.net/. I love Harry Potter.

• What are some of your hobbies offline?

I love to read, hang out with friends having the weirdest and most random conversations, and explore New York City.

• What inspired you to start & run a website?

I think I was ten when the idea was first introduced to me by my mom. I started out using a website builder, but I had not really dabbled into HTML/CSS until I started going on this site GirLand.com. From then on, I encouraged myself to learn the basics to make layouts and learn Photoshop. It was always a self-taught process for me. I did try to go to classes about web development, but I never seemed to learn anything new. I knew it all. That’s not the case anymore, of course. I stopped teaching myself a while back, and there’s always something new going on with the Internet. Now there’s always new things to learn.

• When you were young, what did you want to be when you grow up?

When I was young, I loved to write, so naturally I dreamed of becoming an author. I gave up on that dream a while back since I can’t seem to finish any novel I start.
